Generic crunk rap does suck (Can't spell crap without rap), however I feel that listening to talented rap is doable. . Rise Against kicks ass. Other favorites include Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, Tool, Audioslave, Rick Astley , Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Nine Inch Nails. Nirvana, Soundgarden, and anything not called Soldier Boy is good, too.

linkin'park is sorta like pop-rock. Rage Against the Machine has rap influences, yet it still kicks ass.

Yeah, I have trouble ruling out genres entirely.

There is some country and rap I'll listen to, just as there is some rock and/or metal I won't.

I'm actually kind of out there as far as music tastes go. Big artist names for me are:

Sufjan Stevens, Pretty much everything from the Elephant 6 Collective (The Apples in Stereo, The Olivia Tremor Control, Neutral Milk Hotel, Of Montreal, and others), The Beatles, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., Modest Mouse, Iron Maiden, Daft Punk, Cake, The Arcade Fire.

I like anything really. But I'm kinda musically retarded. By that I mean, I don't know what bands I like, I just know what I like by hearing it.

For example, just recently, I learned that I really like Nirvana, after listening to my buddies iPod, I was like, 'I know that song!'. lol

I like all music, but only certain songs. Country is good, but most of them are retarded. I HATE rap...

My favorite bands are Nigthwish, and Within Temptation, if you haven't heard of them, look them up, they make the most amazing music ever.

My favorite genre is Progressive metal. Favorite bands? Sonata Arctica, Nightwish (with Tarja, not that power pop singer they have now), and Kamelot. I also like other kinds of genres, but with very specific bands like Maroon 5, Lifehouse, Kamelot, Apocalyptica, The Postal Service, and even underground rap artist Immortal Technique xD I'm strange I also love techno and trance.
