If you were given the money to build a house of your choice, but was limited on funds to only 10 million, what would you have built?

Me - I'd build purchase 50 acres of land in New Mexico (Suburbian area, it's cheep) - Then have the area fenced off, have a good sized (4 acre) 2 story house with basement built deep into the property. From there, just do a little landscaping and you can have a large green lawn with bushes and trees as you see fit.

With the remainder of the money, use it to hire staff for the house

Limited to 10 million? Dear god, that's a lot of money to make a house.

I guess if I had that much money to burn, I'd go for a technologically advanced house rather than simply a really, really big one. The cost of making the house at least carbon-neutral would be no problem, so I'd have it designed to use solar energy and good architecture to limit the amount of energy needed to warm/cool/power/etc the house.

I could just build over a geothermal vent in Iceland; I hear that's a cool place to live, and that'd take care of energy needs rather nicely.

Hmm, im more of an old fashioned person myself. I would use the money to hire more maids, and get myself a large mansion, or maybe a castle

States, even you would have trouble going through all those hookers. I'd go for a few floors of an NYC apartment building, all the toys I want, and save 2m for me to invest and live off of.

I would buy a nice Victorian house in San Fransisco, Nicely placed to all the areas of import.

The rest of the money I would buy various entertainment stuff, maybe a staff, and invest some money so I can keep collecting it over the years.

Now, about that house.. I'd probably go for a smaller house because I get paranoid in very big ones. Most of the money would be spent on technology for the house. You know, a fairly decent sized plasma screen, all 3 game consoles and all the best games for each one according to my taste. A normal sized refrigerator but a big kitchen With another TV there, too. I'd have a custom computer with the fastest internet available and all the most powerful parts on the market. I'd definitely have a nice jacuzzi.. I don't care for pools too much, though. I'd have a tennis court built. A temperpedic bed, the highest quality on the line. I'd have all dark polished wood furniture, with lighter wood flooring and beige walls. Carpet on the second floor! Gosh, you guys make me dream of things I can never have

I'd invest the remaining money in stocks.. By the way, this house would be in a well-populated city in New Zealand <3

Buy a plot of land 175yard big.

out of that ill use 50yards for a house!which should be about 1.5million spent.After that the remaining plot of land ill develop into a soccer field with a floodligts.After that the remaining money will go into getting me a kitchen and a bar.
